Ep 1. The Terrible Trio

Batman: The Animated Series is a classic cartoon from the 90s that follows the adventures of the infamous superhero, Batman.

In season 4, episode 1, titled "The Terrible Trio," Batman must face off against three wealthy college graduates who decide to turn to a life of crime. The three villains each have a different animal motif and use their specific skills to commit a series of daring heists throughout Gotham.

The episode begins with Bruce Wayne attending a charity function hosted by the three wealthy college graduates, who call themselves the Terrible Trio. Batman is suspicious of the Trio, especially after he overhears one member, Fox, talk about a mysterious "project" that will make them all rich. Later that same night, the Trio begins their first heist, a daring robbery of a priceless diamond at the Gotham Museum.

Batman quickly catches wind of the heist and intervenes. The Trio put up a good fight, but Batman is able to thwart their plans and save the diamond. However, the Trio manages to escape.

Over the course of the episode, the Trio continues to commit more and more heists, each one more daring than the last. Each member of the Trio has their own unique set of skills. Shark is an expert swimmer, while Wolf is a skilled martial artist and Fox is able to scale tall buildings with ease.

Batman spends much of the episode trying to piece together the Trio's plan and determine what their ultimate goal is. He also struggles with the fact that these three criminals seem to have no regard for human life, as they are willing to kill anyone who gets in their way.

As the episode progresses, Batman begins to gain ground on the Trio. However, things take a turn for the worse when they kidnap Robin, Batman's teenage sidekick. In order to save Robin, Batman must face off against the Trio in a final showdown.

"The Terrible Trio" is a classic episode of Batman: The Animated Series. It showcases some of the best aspects of the show, including the dynamic between Batman and his allies, the dark and brooding atmosphere of Gotham, and the creative ways in which villains try to outsmart Batman. The episode also highlights the complex nature of Batman's character. He is a hero who is willing to do whatever it takes to protect the people of Gotham, even if it means facing off against powerful foes.
