In Bizarre Foods season 3 episode 13, host Andrew Zimmern travels to Uganda in East Africa to explore the country's unique and diverse cuisine. He begins his journey in the capital city of Kampala, where he samples a variety of street foods such as chapati, a flatbread similar to Indian naan, and rolex, a popular Ugandan street food that consists of a chapati rolled up with an omelet, onions, and vegetables.

Zimmern also visits a market where he tries a variety of local fruits, including jackfruit, passionfruit, and mangoes. He then heads to a nearby village where he meets a farmer who teaches him how to harvest and prepare matoke, a type of green banana that is a staple food in Uganda.

Next, Zimmern travels to the southwestern part of the country near the border with Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Here, he meets the Batwa people, an indigenous group that has traditionally lived as hunter-gatherers in the forest. He tries some of their traditional foods, including a type of mushroom that grows wild in the forest and is considered a delicacy, and a dish made from plantains and beans.

Zimmern also visits a nearby tea plantation, where he sees how tea is grown, harvested, and processed. He samples some of the local tea and also tries a dish made from tea leaves. He then heads to a nearby lake where he goes fishing with local fishermen and tries fried fish, which is a common dish in the region.

Finally, Zimmern travels to the northern part of Uganda near the border with South Sudan and meets with the Karamojong people, a semi-nomadic pastoralist group. He tries some of their traditional foods such as sorghum porridge and a dish made from goat meat and blood. He also takes part in a traditional cattle raiding ceremony, which is an important cultural practice for the Karamojong.

Throughout the episode, Zimmern learns about the history and culture of Uganda and how it has influenced the country's cuisine. He also discovers the challenges facing Ugandan farmers and fishermen as they try to adapt to changing environments and markets. Overall, the episode provides a fascinating look at the diverse and vibrant food culture of Uganda and the people who create it.
