Ep 1. Bleach 1

Ichigo Kurosaki is a high school student with the ability to see ghosts. One night, while walking home from school, he encounters a mysterious girl in a black kimono and white hakama who is being chased by a Hollow, a malevolent spirit that devours souls. The girl introduces herself as Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper, and explains that it is her duty to protect the living world from the Hollows. In the course of their battle, Rukia is injured and unable to continue fighting. In desperation, she offers to transfer her powers to Ichigo so that he can defeat the Hollow and save the girl it has captured. Against his better judgment, Ichigo accepts and becomes a substitute Soul Reaper.

With his new powers, Ichigo quickly dispatches the Hollow and rescues the girl, whom he learns is named Orihime Inoue. Rukia, now powerless, finds herself stranded in the human world and unable to return to Soul Society, the realm of the afterlife. She enlists Ichigo's help in keeping the town safe from the Hollows that continue to appear and in training him to use his newfound powers. Along the way, Ichigo encounters several other humans with spiritual abilities, including his classmate Uryū Ishida, a Quincy who hunts Hollows and other evil spirits.

As they work together to protect the town, Ichigo and Rukia begin to uncover a sinister plot involving Soul Society and the mysterious organization known as the Bounts. The Bounts are a group of humans who have gained immortality by consuming the souls of other living beings. Their leader, Jin Kariya, seeks to overthrow the ruling council of Soul Society and establish a new order. Ichigo and his friends must stop him before it’s too late.

Bleach season 1 episode 1 sets up the basic premise of the show and introduces many of the major characters. Ichigo is a reluctant hero who is thrust into a world of spirits and danger by circumstance. Rukia is a skilled warrior with a tragic past who becomes Ichigo's mentor and friend.
