In Blue Bloods season 2 episode 22, entitled Mother's Day, the Reagan family celebrates the holiday in their own unique ways. Erin (played by Bridget Moynahan) tries to persuade Nicky (played by Sami Gayle) to go to a celebratory brunch with her, but Nicky has other plans with her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Frank (played by Tom Selleck), Danny (played by Donnie Wahlberg), and Jamie (played by Will Estes) each deal with their own challenging cases.
Frank is investigating the murder of a young man who was set up by a gang to take the fall for their crimes. As he delves deeper into the case, Frank realizes that the victim's mother is not being entirely forthcoming with him. Danny, on the other hand, is working with his partner Jackie (played by Jennifer Esposito) to track down a pair of robbers who are targeting wealthy mothers. Their investigation takes a dark turn when one of the robbers is found dead and the other is nowhere to be found.
Jamie, fresh off of his undercover work with the Blue Templar, is trying to make amends with his family. He has a heart-to-heart conversation with his sister Erin, who reveals that she was hurt by his secrecy about the investigation. Jamie also helps a mother in need when her young son is caught up in a dangerous situation.
Throughout the episode, the theme of motherhood unites the Reagan family. Frank reflects on his late wife and how she shaped his children into the people they are today. Danny and Jackie bond over their shared experiences as mothers. Jamie's act of kindness towards a mother and her son reveals his compassionate side. And at the end of the day, Erin and Nicky reconcile over their different Mother's Day plans.
Overall, Blue Bloods season 2 episode 22 is a heartwarming and suspenseful tribute to motherhood, with plenty of action and drama to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
