When a California Highway Patrol officer is murdered after pulling over a truck, the team is called in to investigate. Upon arriving at the crime scene, the team immediately notices that the truck is filled with blue balls that appear to be part of a shipment. The team attempts to trace the source of the shipment to track down the killer, but hit a wall when they discover the shipment is part of a large network of illegal drug smuggling.
While trying to connect the dots, the team discovers that the dead officer had a history of working with a corrupt deputy in the same department. As they continue to work through the investigation, they come across other officers who may have been involved in the trafficking scheme and in the murder of the officer.
As the team delves deeper into the investigation, they discover that the case is much larger than they initially thought. They come across a major drug lord who appears to be in control of the entire smuggling network. The team discovers that this individual may also be connected to other crimes in the area and could possibly have ties to other criminal organizations.
With each new piece of evidence, the team becomes more convinced that the smuggling network is much bigger than they initially thought. Despite overwhelming opposition and threats, the team continues to push forward in their investigation.
As they get closer to the truth of the case, they find themselves in more danger than ever before. The killer is still at large, and they realize that they may be in danger of becoming his next target.
With time running out, the team races against the clock to solve the case before it's too late. As they come closer to the truth, they discover that they will have to make some hard choices if they want to bring the killer to justice.
In the end, the team manages to solve the case, but not without making some difficult choices and putting themselves in danger. But despite the risks, they are determined to bring justice to the victim and to the community they serve.
