Ep 1. Escape From the Dungeon

The show Bored to Death is a comedy-drama television series that aired on HBO from 2009-2011. The show depicts the life of a struggling writer who decides to become a private detective for hire. In the second season premiere episode titled "Escape From the Dungeon," Jonathan (Jason Schwartzman) finds himself in a bit of trouble as he gets kidnapped and taken to a house in the suburbs.

The episode begins with Jonathan talking to his therapist about the recent events in his life. He tells her that he is feeling lost without his girlfriend, who has left him, and his writing career is also going nowhere. As he steps out of the therapist's office, he sees an attractive woman waiting for him. She introduces herself as Stacy (Jenny Slate) and tells him that she needs his help to find her sister, who had recently gone missing. Jonathan agrees to take the case and starts investigating.

He discovers that the sister was last seen with a man named Dante (Aziz Ansari) and decides to confront him. But Dante turns the tables on Jonathan and kidnaps him at gunpoint. He takes him to a house in the suburbs and locks him up in a basement. Jonathan meets another prisoner, a man named Louis (John Hodgman), who tells him that he has also been kidnapped by Dante.

Jonathan and Louis start looking for a way to escape from the basement but soon realize that it is not going to be easy. They find a few tools and try to break the lock, but it doesn't work. Meanwhile, outside, Stacy is trying to find Jonathan and ends up confronting Dante. But she too gets kidnapped and brought to the same basement.

As the three of them try to escape, they discover that there is a hidden tunnel that leads to a trapdoor. But before they can use it, Dante catches them and tries to kill them. They manage to overpower him and lock him up in the basement.

In the end, Jonathan finally manages to solve the case and find Stacy's missing sister. He also gains some sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from the whole experience.

Overall, the episode is a thrilling and suspenseful ride with plenty of comedic moments sprinkled throughout. It's a great start to the second season, which promises to be just as entertaining as the first.
