The episode starts with Detective Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews) returning from a medical check-up with the precinct's medical examiner, Dr. Rossi (guest star Mary Elizabeth Ellis). Dr. Rossi informs Terry that he needs to take better care of himself and reduce stress. She suggests that he schedule "M.E. Time" to relax and recharge.

Meanwhile, Detective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher) are investigating a burglary case. The burglar has been stealing rare comic books from collectors and the latest victim is a friend of Captain Holt. Holt assigns Peralta to lead the investigation, and Peralta is thrilled to finally have a chance to prove himself to Holt after multiple failed attempts.

Back at the precinct, Terry starts to schedule his M.E. Time but is interrupted by his colleagues who need his assistance with their cases. Although he tries to prioritize his own health, Terry's commitment to his job and colleagues always seems to come first.

As the investigation continues, Peralta comes up with a theory that the burglar is someone who works at a local comic book store. He decides to go undercover as a comic book enthusiast and gets Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) to join him. The dynamic duo visits various comic book stores in an attempt to catch the thief.

While Terry is helping his colleagues, he receives a call from his wife who tells him that she needs to stay in her office later than usual and cannot make it home in time to pick up their children from school. Terry panics as he cannot miss his M.E. Time to relieve his stress. He enlists the help of his colleagues to pick up his children from school and watch them for a few hours so that he can relax.

After visiting several stores, Peralta and Boyle finally find the thief, who turns out to be a teenage girl who is stealing the comic books for her sick brother. Peralta, moved by the girl's story, decides to help her and her brother instead of arresting her. He convinces the collectors to donate their comic books to the sick boy, and everyone ends up happy.

Back at the precinct, Terry finally gets to enjoy his M.E. Time, but it doesn't last long as his colleagues need his help once again. Although Terry is disappointed that he couldn't finish his relaxation session, he realizes that helping his colleagues is what he truly loves and what makes him happy.

The episode ends with Peralta informing Captain Holt of the outcome of the case. Holt is proud of Peralta's work, and Peralta feels grateful for the opportunity to prove himself to his captain.

Overall, the episode focuses on the importance of self-care, but also highlights the dedication and love that the characters have for their jobs and their colleagues. It also showcases the various talents and capabilities of each character, and how they work together to solve cases.
