Michael Westen is back in action for the third episode of Burn Notice’s second season, titled “Trust Me.” The episode sees Michael on a mission for a client, but when a friend of the client gets involved, things become more complicated than anticipated.

The client, a wealthy businessman named Stuart, hires Michael to assist with a corporate espionage situation. Stuart’s longtime business partner, Tom Prescott, has stolen trade secrets and patented technology from their joint software company. Stuart wants Michael to retrieve the stolen data, and he’ll pay handsomely for his services.

Michael begins working on the case and soon discovers that Prescott has hired a private investigator, Rebecca Lang, to keep tabs on Michael’s actions. Michael, being the expert spy that he is, notices being watched and puts together a plan to mislead Lang and Prescott. He enlists his ex-girlfriend, Fiona, to pose as a businesswoman interested in buying the stolen technology from Prescott. Michael hopes that this will draw Lang’s attention away from him.

The plan goes mostly according to plan until Lang sees right through Fiona’s acting. Lang, aware of Michael’s history in the intelligence community, knows that Fiona must be working with him. Lang confronts Fiona and eventually Michael, but they manage to convince her that they’re working independently of Stuart and that they could complete the deal on their own.

Things get even more complicated when Prescott offers Fiona a job within his company, further leading Michael to question Prescott’s motives. After some investigation, Michael realizes that Stuart isn’t telling him everything and that there are more players at work than he had anticipated.

Michael must navigate through multiple players with different agendas while trying to keep the retrieval of the stolen data as his top priority. The episode has a few unexpected twists and turns that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.

“Trust Me” is an exciting episode that showcases Michael’s quick thinking and spy expertise. The episode highlights the importance of trust and how easily it can be lost in the world of espionage. Michael is put in a difficult position when he must decide if he can trust the client who is paying him for his services.

Overall, “Trust Me” is a thrilling episode that delivers on its promise of high-stakes espionage. The complex plot keeps viewers engaged while the character dynamics add depth to the story. Michael, Fiona, and Lang all bring their unique personalities and skills to the table, making for a well-rounded and exciting episode of Burn Notice.
