Michael Westen is back in the game! Burn Notice season 4 episode 1 titled "Friends and Enemies" takes off with Michael settling back into life in Miami and resuming his life as a spy. However, he still has no idea why he was burned and with who he's at odds. When his old supervisor, Tom Card slips him a clue, he starts piecing together the puzzle but quickly realizes that he has to be careful about who he trusts.

Things take an interesting twist as Michael's old mentor-turned-enemy, Simon, returns, and with him is a deadly ultimatum. His demands lead Michael down a path where he has to team up with his old friends to determine what Simon wants, and then attempt to meet his terms without sacrificing his morality.

Michael's investigation takes him to the other side of the globe where he discovers that Simon's plans are insidious and go far beyond what he anticipated. He joins forces with FBI Agent Bly to thwart an elaborate plot involving explosives and a tiny airplane. Meanwhile, Sam and Fiona conduct damage control when a client of theirs unwittingly takes part in a con game perpetrated by a certain sharp-witted and charismatic thief.

As the episode progresses, the intricacies of Michael's investigation and the motives of Simon begin to unravel. Along the way, he has to make tough choices, often caught between two opposing sides. Amid the danger and chaos, Michael tries to stay true to his own sense of right and wrong, but that is easier said than done.

With every passing minute, the stakes become higher, and Michael's dilemma more complicated. The burden of his knowledge and the weight of his past decisions weigh heavily on him as he struggles to determine what's best for him, his friends, and the people he's sworn to protect.

The chemistry between the actors is excellent, and their performances are top-notch. Jeffrey Donovan does an excellent job at showcasing Michael's internal conflict, while Gabrielle Anwar adds a thrilling and dangerous allure to Fiona. Bruce Campbell is as funny as ever playing Sam, and the rest of the cast delivers an outstanding performance.

It's intense, thrilling, and keeps you glued to the screen while offering a healthy dose of humor to offset the drama. As Michael's character continues to evolve, so do the stakes and the challenges he faces, leading to an exciting and thrilling ride for the viewers as the season progresses.
