Lucille and Kidd Cole - episode 4 of season 3 of Catfish: The TV Show - introduces us to Lucille, a 19-year-old from Houston, Texas who believes she’s romantically involved with Kidd Cole, an up-and-coming hip-hop artist with a massive following on social media. Lucille explains that she was initially drawn to Kidd Cole’s music online, but they started talking and realised they had a connection. Despite having never met in person, Kidd Cole regularly proclaims his love for her and they have even discussed getting married. However, Lucille’s friends have serious doubts about Kidd Cole’s true identity, especially after he sent her a $10,000 check out of the blue.

Nev Schulman and Max Joseph, the hosts of the show, meet with Lucille and are shocked by some of the things she reveals about her relationship with Kidd Cole. The hosts then set out to investigate Kidd Cole and discover that he is not who he claims to be – in fact, the real Kidd Cole is a producer from Maryland who is not nearly as successful or famous as the person Lucille has been talking to. The hosts also discover that Kidd Cole has been scamming other women online, promising them a chance to feature on his album in exchange for money.

When the hosts reveal the truth to Lucille, she is understandably devastated and feels foolish for having fallen for Kidd Cole’s lies. They encourage her to confront Kidd Cole directly, to which she agrees. Schulman and Joseph travel with her to Maryland to meet with Kidd Cole, and when they do, he denies any wrongdoing and insists that he loves Lucille.

However, as the conversation becomes more heated, Kidd Cole eventually admits to scamming Lucille and others, claiming that he was just trying to get money to support his music career. Lucille is understandably hurt and angry, but ultimately decides to forgive Kidd Cole and move on from their relationship. The episode ends with Schulman and Joseph reflecting on the power of deception online and the importance of being careful when interacting with people on the internet.

Overall, Lucille and Kidd Cole is a compelling episode of Catfish: The TV Show that highlights the dangers of online deception and the emotional toll it can take on those who fall victim to it. The hosts’ investigation into Kidd Cole’s true identity is engaging and suspenseful, and the resolution of the episode offers some important insights into the ways in which people can be misled online. At its core, the episode is a cautionary tale about the need to be vigilant and cautious when interacting with people on the internet, no matter how legitimate they may seem.
