Charlie's Angels was an American television show that aired from 1976-1981. The show was produced by Sony and starred Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, Cheryl Ladd, Tanya Roberts, and David Doyle. It was created by Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts and produced by Aaron Spelling.

The show revolved around a trio of highly skilled women who worked as private detectives for the mysterious Charlie Townsend. Charlie, their enigmatic boss, was never seen in person but communicated with the Angels via a speakerbox on his desk. The Angels worked undercover on various cases for clients, using their unique skills to uncover criminal activity and bring criminals to justice.

The original trio of Angels included Farrah Fawcett as Jill Munroe, Kate Jackson as Sabrina Duncan, and Jaclyn Smith as Kelly Garrett. Their characters were each distinct: Jill was the athletic and bolder of the three, Sabrina was the smart and level-headed one, and Kelly was the compassionate and empathetic member of the team. Their chemistry and banter made for a delightful viewing experience, and they quickly became fan favorites.

Over the course of the show's run, there were several cast changes. Fawcett left the show after one season, and Cheryl Ladd was brought in to play her sister Kris Munroe. Tanya Roberts played the role of Julie Rogers in the show's final season after Jackson and Smith had left the series. Despite the cast changes, the show maintained its popularity and remained a cultural icon of the '70s and '80s.

One of the show's defining features was its fashion. The Angels were known for their iconic outfits: bell-bottom pants, halter tops, and high-heeled shoes. Their hair was also a topic of conversation, with Farrah Fawcett's feathered hairstyle becoming a cultural phenomenon. The Angels were not only stylish but also skilled in martial arts, driving, and other detective work.

The show was also notable for its kitschy tone and over-the-top action scenes. Despite its serious themes, Charlie's Angels never took itself too seriously, and the show was often playful and self-aware. It also featured a memorable theme song, composed by Jack Elliott and Allyn Ferguson, which became an iconic part of the show's legacy.

Charlie's Angels was a cultural phenomenon that spawned two movies, a reboot TV series, and a comic book series. It was also a groundbreaking show for its portrayal of strong, independent women who were not only skilled but also stylish and glamorous. The Angels became icons of '70s fashion and feminism, and their legacy lives on to this day.

In summary, Charlie's Angels was a fun, action-packed show that featured strong and independent women working as private detectives for a mysterious boss. The show was known for its iconic fashion, playful tone, and over-the-top action scenes. Despite cast changes, the show maintained its popularity and remained a cultural icon of the '70s and '80s.

Charlie's Angels is a series that is currently running and has 5 seasons (115 episodes). The series first aired on March 21, 1976.
