Charlie Jade is a science fiction television series that aired in 2005. Produced by Content Media Corporation, the show stars Jeffrey Pierce (of the TV series Alcatraz) in the titular role of Charlie Jade, a private investigator from a parallel universe. The show takes place in three interconnected parallel universes, all of which are different from one another. Each universe has its own version of Charlie Jade, who is portrayed in different ways. Charlie Jade from the "Beta" universe is a disgraced ex-cop turned private investigator. Charlie from the "Gamma" universe is an investigating journalist, while Charlie from the "Alpha" universe is a corporate executive.

One day, Charlie from the Beta universe finds himself stranded in the "Alphaverse." He soon discovers that the Alphaverse is ruled by a sinister corporation called Vexcor, which has been harvesting resources from other parallel universes to maintain its power. Charlie joins forces with a rebel group fighting against Vexcor and sets out to uncover the truth behind their nefarious activities.

As Charlie navigates the different universes, he encounters a wide range of characters, each with their own motivations and agendas. There's Reena, a member of the resistance movement in the Alphaverse. Karl Lubinsky, a ruthless Vexcor executive, and his ambitious assistant, Jasmine. Boers, a techno-organic creature who can assume any form he desires; and the enigmatic Eskobar, a mysterious figure who seems to know more about Charlie's situation than anyone else.

Throughout the series, Charlie juggles his mission to take down Vexcor with his own personal struggles. He grapples with his sense of identity, his feelings of loss and betrayal, and his growing attraction to Reena. Meanwhile, he must deal with the constant threat of danger that looms over him at every turn.

The show's creators have described Charlie Jade as a "film noir/sci-fi hybrid" that blends the gritty, hard-boiled atmosphere of classic detective stories with the mind-bending concepts of science fiction. Indeed, the show's unique mix of genres sets it apart from other series in the sci-fi genre. Its cinematography is often dark and shadowy, with a moody, atmospheric score that heightens the tension and adds to the sense of mystery.

Despite its ambitious premise, Charlie Jade was canceled after just one season. Fans and critics alike praised the show's originality and creativity, but its complex storytelling and unconventional structure may have turned off some viewers. Nonetheless, the show has developed a devoted cult following over the years, and its influence can be seen in later shows that explore similar themes of parallel universes and alternate realities.

Overall, Charlie Jade is an intriguing and ambitious show that offers a fresh take on the sci-fi genre. Its complex narrative and multi-layered characters make it a compelling watch for fans of science fiction, detective stories, and experimental television. Though short-lived, the series left a lasting impression on its viewers and has become a cult classic in its own right.
