Ep 5. With Great Power...

Childrens' Hospital is a satirical medical comedy revolving around the staff of an underfunded hospital specializing in treating children's illnesses. In season 6 episode 5, titled "With Great Power...", the hospital is preparing for a charity event, the Pediatric Cancer Charity Ball. As the event begins, the hospital staff is busy trying to entertain the guests. Dr. Blake Downs, the hospital's resident clown doctor, leads a group of children in a drumming session. Cat Black, the hospital's publicist, tries to convince a wealthy donor to donate more money, while Valerie Flame, the hospital's ex-prostitute nurse, tries to keep her past a secret from a nosy reporter.

As the evening progresses, Dr. Maestro prepares for his magic trick, but he is increasingly nervous. His anxiety is not helped by the presence of Glenn, who is dressed in an elaborate and ridiculous costume. Dr. Maestro's trick involves making a child volunteer from the audience disappear and reappear somewhere else in the room. However, things go awry when the child actually disappears, and Dr. Maestro is unable to make them reappear.

Panic sets in as the hospital staff realizes that a child has gone missing from the event. The search for the missing child leads them to the hospital's basement, where they find the child unharmed but confused. It turns out that the child had simply wandered off during the trick and had been hiding in the basement all along.

As the night draws to a close, the hospital staff reflects on the event and their efforts to help sick children. Dr. Maestro apologizes for his failed magic trick, but the child's mother assures him that her child had a wonderful time at the event despite the mishap. The staff realizes that their work is not just about medicine but also about bringing joy and laughter to their patients.
