Chobits

Chobits is a short series that follows Hedeki who is trying to get into a better school. He doesn't want to have to work at his family's farm anymore. His two biggest dreams are to get into a great school and to one day own a persocom. A persocom is a mobile computer shaped like a human and they are very expensive and because Hedeki does not have a lot of money he can not afford one.

One night while walking alone he spots something in the garbage. In his favor someone had thrown away a persocom. He carry's the very heavy computer back to his home. He examines it wondering if it works or why someone would throw such an amazing piece of machinery out. The persocom has long beautiful hair and pale skin. She looks as though she is sleeping.

Hideki decides to try and turn the machine on to see if it works. He presses every part of the human looking machine only to find out that her power button is between her legs. She turns on and stands up only able to say the word "chi". Just then Hideki's neighbor pops through the door. Hideki is very embarrassed especially since his persocom is naked. He gives her a shirt to wear.

It is later disocvered that Chi is actually something called a Chobits. A persocom who is capable of developing feelings and making their own decisions. Chi also had a twin sister named Freya who died after developing feelings for their creator whom they called "father". He also happened to be the husband of Hideki's landlord.

Later everyone realizes that both Chi and Hideki have feelings for each other. Hideki tries to hide his feelings after his friends elaborate on other people who had feelings for persocoms. They all ended in tragedy. One of his friends had even gotten married to a persocom. Then when Chi is found out to be one of the legendary Chobits, it is learned that she is capable of returning Hedeki's feelings and he can no longer hide them.
