Class of the Titans is a thrilling animated series produced by Canadian animation studio Nelvana, which aired from 2006 to 2008, spanning 52 episodes and three seasons. The show follows a group of seven teenagers who discover that they are reincarnated heroes, heroes of Greek mythology destined to save the world from the gods themselves.

The central character is Jay, a high school student who has moved from New York City to a mansion in a small town called Olympia. While exploring the mansion, he and his new friends (who are also his classmates) discover artifacts that reveal their identities as reincarnations of the Greek heroes. With the help of these artifacts and their newfound abilities, the heroes must face the challenges and dangers of being the last line of defense against the gods, who due to a prophecy, could return and once again take over the world.

The young heroes are Jay (voiced by Kirby Morrow) as the reincarnation of Jason, Atlanta (Meghan Black) as Atalanta, Herry (Ty Olsson) as Heracles, Theresa (Kelly Sheridan) as Theresa, Odie (Samuel Vincent) as Odysseus, Neil (Ted Cole) as Neil, and Archie (Doron Bell) as Archimedes. Each hero has their own unique abilities, strengths and weaknesses - some physical and some emotional, and they have to learn about their past lives to hone these skills, strategic knowledge and continue the work of their ancestors who first defeated the gods.

The show depicts a journey of self-discovery and self-improvement, as the characters learn how to use their skills and work together as a team to defeat enemies and overcome obstacles. They are quite a diverse group and with each episode, a different member of the group takes center stage, showcasing their unique abilities and character traits. The show seamlessly blends action, adventure, and humor, making it an enjoyable watch for both children and adults.

As the story progresses, the heroes face increasingly difficult challenges, and not just from the gods. An enigmatic villain named Cronus is their main adversary, determined to escape from Tartarus, the underworld and take over the world. The heroes must also deal with the gods and their own insecurities as they fight to save humanity from destruction. The fight between the heroes and the gods becomes more intense with each episode, building up to the final season which promises to deliver epic battles between the heroes and their immortal foes.

The animation for the series is a pleasing blend of traditional 2D and CGI animation, that captures the essence of Greek mythology like few other animated series have done in the past. The characters are all unique, with their own personalities, and the world-building is impressive, with various locations and ancient structures all having a classical Greek feel. The writers and animators behind Class of the Titans have done well to create a visually appealing and exciting world that draws viewers into the story of Jay and his team.

Overall, Class of the Titans is a captivating and intriguing animated series that appeals to both children and adults. It is based on Greek mythology, which provides plenty of opportunities to explore action-filled adventures, fascinating characters, and climactic battles. It takes wise decisions from creators to keep the story grounded and cleverly adapted, making the show an engaging and educative watch. This animation series is still watched and adored by millions worldwide, and its lasting appeal can be attributed to its clever writing, colorful characters and well-crafted storylines that weave old mythology with modern-day sensibilities.
