Commander In Chief is a political drama television series that first aired on ABC in 2005. The show follows the story of Mackenzie Allen, played by Geena Davis, who becomes the first female president of the United States after the sudden death of the previous president.

Mackenzie, a former university chancellor, is thrust into the highest office in the land with no preparation or prior political experience. She immediately faces a barrage of challenges, from a difficult and skeptical chief of staff, to members of her own party who do not believe she is qualified to handle the job.

As Mackenzie navigates the treacherous waters of Washington, she also must manage her personal life. She is a mother of three and wife to a supportive but somewhat beleaguered husband who has to adapt to life as the first gentleman.

Throughout the show, Mackenzie makes tough decisions and faces intense opposition, both from political enemies and members of her own administration. However, she remains determined to do what is right, even if it means going against the wishes of those closest to her.

The show explores themes such as gender equality, the balance between personal and professional life, and the role of the president in shaping the future of the country. It also delves into the lives of the people who work in the White House, from the press secretary to the chief of staff, and the political maneuvering that goes on behind the scenes.

In addition to Davis, the show features an all-star cast, including Donald Sutherland as the skeptical chief of staff, Kyle Secor as the president's husband, and Harry Lennix as the FBI director.

Throughout its one-season run, the show received critical acclaim for its strong writing and powerful performances. Davis, in particular, was praised for her portrayal of a strong, intelligent female leader who is unafraid to take on the challenges of the presidency.

Despite its popularity, the show was canceled after just one season, leaving fans disappointed and hopeful for a continuation of Mackenzie Allen's story. However, the legacy of Commander In Chief lives on as a trailblazing show that paved the way for more representation of women in politics and leadership roles on television.

Commander In Chief is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (18 episodes). The series first aired on September 27, 2005.
