Ep 1. Vamos

In episode 1 of season 4 of Covert Affairs entitled "Vamos", we find Annie Walker, a CIA agent, resigned from the agency and living anonymously in Colombia. Annie, who was presumed dead by the CIA, lives with a man named Teo Braga, a former arms dealer.

The episode starts with Annie teaching English to locals in Colombia, and we learn that her life with Teo has not been completely peaceful. Annie struggles with trust issues, especially since Teo has had ties to some shady dealings in the past.

Annie's past comes back to haunt her when Calder Michaels, her former CIA boss, shows up in Colombia to try and bring her back into the agency. Michaels is insistent that Annie's talents are desperately needed, and he promises her that working with the CIA again will not put her in harm's way.

Annie is hesitant but agrees to be a CIA asset in Colombia. The CIA believes that the Venezuelan intelligence agency is in cahoots with the Colombian cartel to smuggle drugs. Annie and Teo work together in a covert operation to gain access to the leader of the cartel to gather intelligence.

The two set up a meeting with the cartel leader, and any trust Annie had still had with Teo is quickly eroded when things quickly go awry. When the two meet with the cartel leader, he ends up being killed, and Teo disappears. Annie finds herself having to run and hide as she tries to determine what has happened to Teo.

Throughout the episode, we see Annie's resourcefulness and her abilities as a CIA agent. After she discovers that the Venezuelan intelligence agency had orchestrated the hit on the cartel leader, she uses her skills to get close to the Venezuelan target.

The episode ends with a few twists and Annie finding herself back in the good graces of the CIA. She makes the decision to stay in the Agency, and the show sets up an exciting season to come as Annie's past and future take center stage.
