Daria was an animated television show that aired on MTV from 1997 to 2002. The series was a spin-off of Beavis and Butt-Head and followed the life of an intelligent and sarcastic teenage girl named Daria Morgendorffer. The show takes place in the fictional town of Lawndale, where the main character, Daria, attends high school with her best friend, Jane Lane. The show's tone is often cynical and satirical, with a focus on the flaws and contradictions of American suburban life.

Throughout the series, Daria comments on the various absurdities of high school existence, such as popularity contests, fashion trends, and social cliques. However, the show also explores deeper issues such as mental health, sexuality, and family dynamics.

The supporting cast includes Daria's parents, Jake and Helen Morgendorffer, who often struggle to understand their daughter's personality and interests. Her younger sister, Quinn, is the stereotypical popular girl, which presents a stark contrast to Daria's personality.

Another frequent character is Kevin Thompson, a jock who is not the brightest bulb in the box but a loveable character nonetheless. Jodie Landon is a student who, like Daria and Jane, is highly intelligent and socially aware, but also struggles with some of the same issues of race and class that many high school students face.

Other characters on the show include Brittany Taylor and her constantly annoyed boyfriend, J. T. The Fashion Club, which is made up of Sandi Griffin, Stacy Rowe, Tiffany Blum-Deckler, and Quinn, also make regular appearances in the show.

Overall, Daria is a show that often pokes fun at the absurdity of high school while also tackling serious issues at the same time. With its unique humor and well-drawn characters, the show has continued to be a cult favorite for over two decades since its initial airing.

Daria is a series that is currently running and has 5 seasons (67 episodes). The series first aired on March 3, 1997.
