Ep 2. Broken Bough

In Defiance season 3 episode 2, titled "Broken Bough," tensions between the town's different factions escalate as a new threat emerges.

At the beginning of the episode, we find Nolan and Irisa still struggling to recover from their experiences in the alien ark. Meanwhile, Amanda Rosewater is dealing with fallout from the previous episode's attack on the town by the Votanis Collective. She's also dealing with personal turmoil as she confronts her brother, who is now a member of the enemy forces.

As the episode progresses, we see tensions rise between humans and members of the Votanis Collective. A new player, the Omec, emerges as a potential threat to both groups. They're a species that has been in hiding for years, but now they're making their presence known. The Omec are known for their violent behavior and their insatiable appetite for flesh.

As the town tries to find a way to deal with the threat posed by the Omec, we see relationships strained between various characters. T'evgin, a Votanis Collective leader, is forced to confront his daughter when she becomes involved with a member of the human population. Meanwhile, Datak Tarr is struggling with his own issues as he tries to prove his worth to the new Votanis Collective leadership while also dealing with family drama.

The episode culminates in a tense standoff between the humans and the Votanis Collective, with the Omec lurking in the background. It's clear that things are just getting started in this new season of Defiance, and there's much more drama and danger to come.
