Ep 14. Love Is in the Air

In Desperate Housewives season 1 episode 14, titled "Love Is in the Air," love is certainly in the air on Wisteria Lane as Valentine's Day approaches. Each of the housewives deals with their own romantic struggles and desires.

Bree Van de Kamp (played by Marcia Cross) is excited to celebrate Valentine's Day with her husband Rex (played by Steven Culp), but her plans are thrown off when she discovers he has been keeping a secret from her. Meanwhile, Lynette Scavo (played by Felicity Huffman) struggles to find time for intimacy with her husband Tom (played by Doug Savant) while raising four young children.

Elsewhere, Susan Mayer (played by Teri Hatcher) becomes conflicted when she discovers that her ex-husband Karl (played by Richard Burgi) is dating Edie Britt (played by Nicollette Sheridan), one of her neighbors and friends. Susan also begins to suspect that Mike Delfino (played by James Denton), the man she has been seeing, may be hiding something from her.

Gabrielle Solis (played by Eva Longoria) finds herself caught between her husband Carlos (played by Ricardo Antonio Chavira) and her teenage lover John (played by Jesse Metcalfe) when Carlos begins to suspect her of having an affair. And finally, Mary Alice Young (played by Brenda Strong) narrates the episode as usual, revealing her own dark secrets and struggles with love.

As Valentine's Day approaches, tensions and emotions run high on Wisteria Lane. "Love Is in the Air" explores the complicated and messy nature of love and relationships, as the housewives navigate their own desires and difficulties. Will they all find the love and happiness they so desperately crave, or will they be left heartbroken and alone?
