Ep 8. Orang Pendek & Worm Monster

In season 2 episode 8 of Destination Truth, host Josh Gates and his team travel to Indonesia in search of two separate mysterious creatures - the Orang Pendek and the Worm Monster.

Their first investigation takes them deep into the forests of Sumatra, where locals have reported sightings of the Orang Pendek, a small, bipedal primate believed to be a relative of the orangutan. Josh and the team meet with witnesses and examine footprints and hair samples supposedly left behind by the creature. They also visit a tribal elder who claims to have seen the Orang Pendek firsthand. However, the team encounters several challenges along the way, including difficult terrain and language barriers, which threaten to derail their investigation.

Next, the team travels to the island of Flores to investigate the Worm Monster, a giant worm-like creature said to inhabit the island's caves. Josh and his crew brave the dark, damp caves and search for evidence of the creature's existence, including slime trails and possible nesting sites. They also interview locals, some of whom have reported seeing strange, wriggling creatures in the caves at night. However, as they delve deeper into the caves, the team encounters unexpected dangers and technical issues that may prevent them from discovering the truth about the Worm Monster.

Throughout the episode, Josh and the team remain skeptical but open-minded, using scientific methods and equipment to gather evidence and analyze their findings. Along the way, they encounter fascinating wildlife and landscapes, as well as local cultures and customs.
