In the ninth season's tenth episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, host Guy Fieri takes viewers on a Kansas City Barbecue Tour. Known for being a hub of barbeque, Kansas City is home to several noteworthy eateries, and Fieri is on a mission to sample some of the best the city has to offer.

The first stop on Fieri's tour is Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que, which is housed in a gas station. The restaurant has become an iconic staple in the city and is known for its "Z-Man" sandwich. Fieri meets with owner Jeff Stehney, who walks him through the restaurant's history and shows him how the famous sandwich is made. Fieri is impressed by the flavorful combination of beef brisket, smoked provolone, and onion rings, all served on a Kaiser roll.

Next up is Arthur Bryant's Barbeque, a legendary establishment that's been serving up barbecue for over 100 years. Fieri meets with owner Ardie Davis, who shows him how to make burnt ends, a popular Kansas City barbecue dish. The restaurant's burnt ends are smoked for 10-12 hours and are then chopped up and served with sauce and white bread.

Fieri then heads to Q39, a newer restaurant that's quickly gained popularity in the city. Owner and pitmaster Rob Magee takes Fieri through the process of making brisket sliders with a special barbecue rub. Fieri marvels at the combination of flavors and notes that it's unlike anything he's tasted before.

The fourth stop on the tour is LC's Bar-B-Q, a no-frills restaurant that's been serving up barbeque since 1986. Owner and pitmaster LC Richardson shows Fieri how to make his famous burnt ends, which are the restaurant's most popular dish. Fieri notes that the smoky flavor is intense and that he can taste the generations of knowledge and tradition that have gone into the dish.

The final stop on the Kansas City Barbecue Tour is Slap's BBQ, a newer restaurant that's won awards for its barbeque. Owner Joe Pearce shows Fieri how to make baby back ribs and serves up some of the restaurant's signature burnt end chili. Fieri is impressed by the tenderness of the ribs and notes that the chili has just the right amount of heat.

Throughout the episode, Fieri also interacts with patrons and employees of the restaurants he visits, giving viewers a glimpse into the camaraderie and passion that goes into making delicious barbeque. With its mouth-watering dishes and colorful personalities, the Kansas City Barbecue Tour episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is sure to leave viewers hungry for more.
