Ep 2. The Runaway Bride (2006)

As the holiday season approaches, the Doctor (played by David Tennant) finds himself aboard the TARDIS, hurtling through space and time once again. However, he's not alone: a mysterious bride (played by Catherine Tate) has appeared onboard, seemingly out of thin air. Confused, frightened, and completely unaware of how or why she's ended up there, the bride demands answers from the Doctor.

Despite his reluctance, the Doctor discovers that the bride, named Donna, has been abducted by the sinister Empress of the Racnoss (played by Sarah Parish). Racing against time, they both must find a way to stop the Empress and her deadly plan to flood the Earth.

As they journey through space and time, Donna and the Doctor form an unlikely bond. Through their adventures, Donna's humor and wit prove to be a perfect foil to the Doctor's eccentricities. Along the way, they encounter a variety of strange creatures and obstacles, including robotic Santas, time warps, and even a giant spider-like spaceship!

Meanwhile, the Empress of the Racnoss is working to execute her nefarious plot. She believes that the last of her kind, her offspring, are being held captive on Earth. However, her plan to rescue them involves causing a massive flood that will kill millions of humans.

As the Doctor and Donna race against time to stop the Empress, they must also confront their own doubts and fears. For Donna, this means coming to terms with the prospect of never returning home. And for the Doctor, this means confronting his own guilt and pain from his past.

Ultimately, the fate of the Earth rests in the hands of the Doctor and his new companion. The Runaway Bride marks the first of many Christmas specials to come in the Doctor Who series and sets the tone for the exciting, heartwarming, and often hilarious adventures that await fans of this beloved show.
