Ep 5. Senti-Mental Journey

In the episode "Senti-Mental Journey," from the second season of the TV show "Drop Dead Diva," the main character Jane Bingum (played by Brooke Elliott) takes on a particularly emotional case involving a woman named Jessie. Jessie comes to Jane's law firm looking for help after her former fiancé, Ethan, sues her for the return of the engagement ring he gave her. Fred is able to enter the body of another woman, Stacy (played by April Bowlby), and uses her body to try to get closer to his wife. But this plan backfires when Stacy's boyfriend becomes jealous of her sudden change in behavior.

As Jessie's case goes to trial, Jane uses her own experience with grief to plead Jessie's case to the judge and jury. In an emotional moment, Jessie also takes the stand and explains the sentimental value of the ring to her. The jury ultimately decides in favor of Jessie, and Ethan has to let her keep the ring.

At the end of the episode, Jane finally meets with the therapist Grayson recommended, and begins to work through her unresolved feelings of grief over her mother's death.
