Ep 7. Roy & Ben

Roy and Ben are two friends who take extreme frugality to a whole new level in this episode of Extreme Cheapskates. Roy is a musician from Nashville who has been dubbed the "Cheapest Man in America" and Ben is a father of two who is always looking for ways to save a buck.

The episode starts with Roy giving a tour of his home, which is a small, cramped apartment that he shares with his girlfriend. They have furnished the entire place with items they found for free on the street or in dumpsters. Roy even salvaged the kitchen sink from an old house that was being torn down. He proudly shows off his collection of empty soda cans, which he takes to the recycling center months after they've been consumed to get the maximum amount of money.

Ben, on the other hand, lives in a large house with his wife and two young daughters. He's constantly looking for ways to save money, including turning off the lights when no one is in the room and using a gas grill to cook meals instead of an oven. He even uses water from a nearby pond to flush his toilets in order to save on his water bill.

Roy and Ben are both obsessed with finding free food. Roy takes advantage of free samples at the grocery store, eats food that's been thrown out by restaurants, and even scavenges food that's been left behind on tables at fast food restaurants. Ben, on the other hand, is known for dumpster diving behind grocery stores. He shows off a massive collection of food that he's pulled out of the trash, claiming that most of it is still good to eat.

The two friends also share their creative ways of cutting down on expenses. Roy only washes his clothes once a month to save on laundry costs, and Ben uses a homemade "human hamster wheel" to power his electronic devices instead of plugging them in. In an effort to save money on transportation, Roy converted an old bicycle into a makeshift car, and he proudly shows off his invention to the camera crew.

The episode takes a surprising turn when Roy and Ben team up to throw a "freegan" dinner party. They invite a group of friends over and serve a meal made entirely of food that was salvaged from the trash. The guests are hesitant at first but end up enjoying the food and being impressed by the extreme measures that Roy and Ben take to save money.

Overall, the episode showcases the extreme lengths that some people will go to in order to save a buck.
