Ep 6. Believers

Kate Reed is back in business in Fairly Legal season 1 episode 6. In this episode titled "Believers," Kate has to represent a hostage negotiator who took a religious cult leader as his hostage.

The episode kicks off with Kate leaving her ex-husband and his new girlfriend's wedding, where she was their wedding planner. While on her way home, she gets a call from Judge Nicastro, asking her to represent a hostage negotiator who is in hot water due to a hostage situation. The hostage-taker is Dr. Hank Norville, a renowned hostage negotiator who has an unblemished track record until now.

A group of religious cult followers took Norville hostage after he attempted to negotiate with them to release a member of their cult who was kidnapped by them. The FBI is trying to negotiate with the cult but their attempts have been unsuccessful. Kate steps in to take over and support Norville and help to secure the safe return of the hostage.

Kate starts to put together a strategy to negotiate with the cult and successfully secure the release of the hostage. However, the negotiation process is not the only thing she will have to manage: she quickly realizes that Norville's wife is blind, and the kidnapper (the cult leader) happens to be an ex- boyfriend of Norville's wife. Not only that, but the FBI agent in charge of the case is one of Norville's enemies from his past.

With all of this, Kate is going to have to navigate her way through her new client's complicated and personal issues while trying to ensure that the situation does not escalate into violence. Kate also deals with issues surrounding the cult leader's belief system, which is a challenge to understand completely.

As the episode progresses, Kate is presented with various challenges to overcome in order to help her client secure the safe release of the hostage. While things were going well, Kate is eventually forced to make some tough decisions which could potentially ruin the future of her client. With the clock ticking and the situation escalating, Kate has to do her best to resolve the hostage situation while keeping her client out of trouble.

Overall, 'Believers' is an exciting episode with plenty of twists and turns. It presents a story with a lot of complications that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The development of Kate's character further, and her sharp intellect, as well as her compassionate approach in this case, makes this episode a must-watch for fans of the series.
