Ep 8. Strange Brew

After an intense battle in the previous episode, Falling Skies Season 3 Episode 8 titled "Strange Brew" takes a quieter turn as the members of the 2nd Mass are trying to recover from their injuries. John Pope (Colin Cunningham) strikes up an unlikely friendship with this mysterious being, who goes by the nickname "Mama."

Meanwhile, back at the sanctuary, Anne (Moon Bloodgood) is doing her best to keep everyone's spirits up. She is also trying to come up with a plan to rescue those who were left behind after the battle. The decision to keep the wounded soldiers behind at the sanctuary while the rest of the group scavenges for supplies and shelter is a risky one, but Anne is adamant that she can handle it.

The episode explores themes of trust, betrayal, and the true nature of humanity. The 2nd Mass is not sure who they can trust, especially after the last episode's unexpected betrayal. However, this new character, Mama, brings up many questions about the difference between human and alien life. The chemistry between Pope and Mama provides some much-needed levity in what can be an otherwise heavy show.
