The Tibbetts and the Cafearos are two families who meet in this documentary. One family has four sons and the other family has four daughters, and each says they are extremely satisfied having children of only one sex. Both families are invited to exchange their children with the other family for a long weekend to discover what life might have been like having children of the opposite sex. Both couples examine how a family of all girls or all boys has influenced their relationship as well as the identity of the family.
