In season 4 episode 4 of Ghost Hunters, titled "Fear Cage," the team heads to West Virginia to investigate the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. The asylum was once a place for mentally ill patients but closed its doors in the 1990s. Reports of paranormal activity have been reported by both staff and visitors, and the team is eager to investigate.

The team first meets with the caretaker of the building, who tells them about the "Fear Cage." This small room was used to punish patients who misbehaved, and they would be locked inside for hours without any food or water. Many patients died in the Fear Cage, and it is said to be a hotspot for paranormal activity.

The team sets up their equipment throughout the asylum, including in the Fear Cage. They use a variety of devices, including EMF detectors, thermal cameras, and digital recorders to try to capture evidence of any paranormal activity. They split up into smaller teams to cover as much ground as possible.

As they begin their investigation, the team starts to hear strange noises and see movement in the shadows. They also feel sudden drops in temperature and experience feelings of being watched. The team works to debunk any natural explanations, but some occurrences defy explanation.

In the Fear Cage, one team member feels an overwhelming sense of fear and panic. They begin to hyperventilate and have to be removed from the room. Another team member attempts to communicate with any spirits present and receives strange responses on the digital recorder.

Throughout the night, the team continues to capture evidence of paranormal activity. They document numerous unexplained noises, shadow figures, and disembodied voices. The activity is concentrated in the Fear Cage, but they also experience activity in other parts of the asylum.

As the investigation comes to an end, the team feels that they have captured substantial evidence to support claims of paranormal activity at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. They leave the building with a sense of both excitement and unease, knowing that they may have encountered something truly unexplainable.

Overall, season 4 episode 4 of Ghost Hunters provides an intriguing look at one of the most haunted locations in the United States. The team's investigation of the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is both suspenseful and informative, and fans of the show will not be disappointed.
