Ep 18. Dead Eye

Melinda and Jim are attending a Native American Art exhibit, with Melinda's friend Teri, when Melinda is approached by the artist Brad. Brad immediately recognizes Melinda as a medium, and tells her that he has been seeing things since he was a little boy. Brad reveals that he has been told by his shaman to paint what he sees, and it is through his art that he can see spirits. Brad invites Melinda to his studio, and she accepts, sensing that he needs her help.

When Melinda arrives at the studio, she is struck by the energy there, and soon realizes that there is a malevolent presence lurking in the shadows. Brad tells Melinda that he has been seeing this spirit for weeks, and that it is threatening his life and the lives of his family members. In a fit of rage, Lydia had attacked Brad with a pair of scissors, and he had defended himself by stabbing her with a paintbrush. Lydia had died from her injuries, but her spirit had become trapped in the physical world, seeking revenge on Brad.

Melinda realizes that in order to stop Lydia, she must help Brad confront the past and come to terms with what he had done. Brad, after many years of suppressing the memory, finally admits to Melinda that he had killed Lydia in self-defense. Together, Melinda and Brad use Brad's art to communicate with Lydia, and they help her to cross over into the afterlife, bringing closure to all involved.

Overall, "Dead Eye" is a tense and atmospheric episode of Ghost Whisperer, with plenty of spooky moments and heartfelt character development. Fans of the show will appreciate the emphasis on spirit communication and the supernatural, and the focus on themes of forgiveness and redemption.
