Get Ready for a 'Glee' Movie...in 3D!

Get Ready for a 'Glee' Movie...in 3D! "Glee" pretty much already rules the television screen, and they rule the stage when the cast members tour the country and perform live (as they're set to do again this summer). There's only one place left to go: the movies!

If you wanted to see the "Glee Live! In Concert!" tour but couldn't get tickets, there's no need to worry. You'll be able to see the live performances in movie theaters in August...in 3D! Fox is planning to make a "This Is It"-style documentary/concert movie following the "Glee" cast's live performances on their tour.

The movie will feature the performances from the tour with the original cast members, including Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Darren Criss, Chris Colfer, and the other stars of the hit show.

It's a wise move by Fox: if the concert documentaries "Michael Jackson: This Is It" and "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" taught us anything, it's that when you have a big star doing a tour, you put it in theaters. The "Glee Live! 3D!" doc with have the added draw of being in 3D, which will raise ticket sales (3D tickets are more expensive) and hopefully interest more moviegoers.

"Glee Live! 3D!" will hit theaters on August 12th, and will run for two weeks in a limited release. There's no indication yet of how wide a release it will be, but chances are good that no matter where you are, a theater near you will have it.
