The Glee club is getting ready to celebrate Christmas in style and they decide to put up a Christmas special for the school's Public Access TV station. They choose Artie to direct the show and he is thrilled to be given the opportunity. The group decides to perform at a homeless shelter and they enlist the help of their former teacher, Holly Holliday, who had previously filled in for Mr. Schuester.

The episode is set in a traditional Christmas theme, with the school draped in Christmas decorations and filled with Christmas music. The Glee club performs some of the best Christmas classics, including "All I Want for Christmas", "River" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."

Artie and the group are determined to make the show the best Christmas special ever. The cast explores different ideas, from traditional to quirky, before settling on a concept that will resonate with everyone. The show is set in black and white and designed to pay tribute to the classic Christmas specials of the 60s and 70s.

As the group prepares for the show, more problems arise. Artie's desire for perfection causes him to become very stressed and affect his relationships with others. The group misses Mr. Schuester's guidance, and Brittany begins to show signs of wanting to quit the show. Meanwhile, old wounds between Kurt and Blaine arise, threatening to destroy the group's Christmas special.

Despite these problems, the Glee club members are truly excited to be working together, and their love of singing shows through in their performances. Unique and Tina make the most of their solos, making for a truly unforgettable experience for everyone involved. The group concludes the show with a heartwarming rendition of "Do They Know It's Christmas?"

In the end, the Glee club's spirit of cooperation and teamwork pulls the show through. Artie apologizes to the group for his behavior, and the group reassures him that they still trust and believe in him. The show airs in front of the entire school, and they receive an unprecedented response for their performance. The Glee club ends the episode with "We Need a Little Christmas," promising a bigger and better performance next year.
