Guilty Crown is a Japanese anime television series that was aired between 2011 and 2012 on Fuji TV. The series has a total of 22 episodes, and it was directed by Tetsurō Araki, who is also known for Death Note's direction. The series has received a lot of critical acclaim for its soundtracks, animation, and story.

The show is set in the near future, and it tells the story of a high school student named Shu Ouma. Shu lives in Tokyo, which is still recovering from the aftermath of an unknown virus that spreads among the citizens. The virus is known as the Apocalypse Virus, and it causes people to turn into ghoul-like beings that are called the "Lost Christmas."

The society has been divided into two groups, the GHQ, which is the military force of the government, and the Funeral Parlor, which is a rebel group that fights against GHQ. Shu is an introverted and isolated young man who likes to keep a low profile. One day, he meets a girl named Inori Yuzuriha, who is a member of the Funeral Parlor. Inori is a famous singer, and she was sent on a mission to retrieve a mysterious object known as the "Void Genome."

The Void Genome is a device that can extract powerful weapons known as Voids from human bodies. When Shu encounters Inori, he comes into contact with the Void Genome, and he gains the power to extract Voids from people. He realizes that he has become an integral part of the war between the GHQ and the Funeral Parlor.

As Shu gets pulled deeper into the conflict, he discovers the truth behind the Apocalypse Virus, the government's intentions, and Inori's past. He must learn how to harness his powers and use them to help his friends and allies. Along the way, he meets a cast of compelling characters, including Gai Tsutsugami, Funeral Parlor's leader, Tsugumi, a hacker and friend of Inori, and Yahiro, Shu's former friend.

The anime is a combination of science fiction, action, drama, and romance. It has a complex plot that explores the moral ambiguity of war and the psychological effects it can have on individuals. The characters are well developed, and their interactions feel genuine and believable.

The animation style is beautiful and fluid, with a lot of attention to detail. The action sequences are fast-paced and intense, with an emphasis on using the Voids in unique and creative ways. The show is also known for having a fantastic original soundtrack, composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, which adds to the emotional weight of the series.

Overall, Guilty Crown is a fantastic anime that is worth watching for fans of the genre. It has an engaging plot, complex characters, and beautiful animation. The show delves into themes such as war, sacrifice, and friendship, and it does so in an intense and emotional way. The ending may leave some viewers feeling polarized, but it is still a satisfying conclusion to a remarkable television series.

Guilty Crown is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (22 episodes). The series first aired on October 13, 2011.
