Gun Frontier is an anime series that debuted on TV Tokyo in 2002. It is a western-themed anime that takes place in the 1800s, during the time when the American wild west was in full swing. The story revolves around two main characters, Tochiro and Harlock, as they embark on a long journey across the western frontier. Tochiro is a skilled gunslinger, while Harlock is a captain of a space pirate ship.

The show takes place in a time where the wild west is still being explored, and civilization is still slowly making its way into the western territories. The story is set in a small town called Bloodhound, where Tochiro and Harlock find themselves stranded. The town is plagued by bandits and other outlaws, and the pair take it upon themselves to rid the town of these criminals.

The two characters are quite different from each other. Tochiro is a quiet and reserved character who is skilled with his guns. He has a tragic past and is searching for something that he cannot seem to find. Harlock, on the other hand, is more of a rough and tumble character who is a bit of a bad boy. He is the captain of the infamous space pirate ship Arcadia and is always looking for adventure.

As the two characters begin their journey, they quickly find that they have much in common. They both have a strong sense of justice and a desire to help those who cannot help themselves. As they travel from one town to another, they encounter all kinds of characters, both good and bad.

The show is a mix of action, adventure, and comedy. The characters are all unique and have their own distinct personalities. The animation is well done, and the landscapes of the western frontier are beautifully portrayed. The fight scenes are exciting, and the music is catchy.

The voice acting is also top-notch. Paul St. Peter voices Tochiro, and he does an excellent job bringing the character to life. Beau Billingslea voices Harlock and gives him a rough and tumble quality that is perfect for the character. Eiji Takemoto voices Sinunora, a mysterious female character who helps the two main characters on their journey.

Overall, Gun Frontier is an excellent anime series that should not be missed. It is a unique take on the western genre, and the combination of wild west and space pirate themes is perfect for fans of science fiction and adventure. The characters are well-written, and the story is engaging. If you are a fan of anime or westerns, Gun Frontier is definitely worth checking out.
