Gun X Sword is an anime series produced by TV Tokyo and directed by Gorō Taniguchi. The show follows the story of Van, a lone wanderer on a journey of vengeance against a man named The Claw, a mysterious figure who killed his bride in front of him. Kikuko Inoue voices the character of Wendy, a young girl who accompanies Van on his journey and serves as his guide.

The show is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans live in a desert wasteland. Van travels from town to town, seeking information about The Claw's whereabouts while getting involved in local conflicts along the way. He wears a suit of armor called "Armor X," which enhances his physical strength and agility, and wields a sword that can transform into different shapes and sizes.

Takanori Hoshino plays the role of The Claw, a man with a scarred face who leads a group of outlaws known as the "Original Seven." The Seven each have their own unique abilities and serve as obstacles for Van in his pursuit of The Claw.

Houko Kuwashima voices Carmen 99, a sultry and manipulative seductress who works for The Claw. She is often seen trading information with Van and occasionally comes to his aid in battles. Takahiro Sakurai plays Ray, a robot with a human-like personality who was created by The Claw's scientist, Ryuho.

Junko Noda voices Joshua, a young boy who is being pursued by The Claw due to his unique ability to control machines. Saeko Chiba plays Fasalina, a member of The Claw's Original Seven who is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and wields a weapon called a "whip-sword." Satsuki Yukino voices Wendy's older brother, Michael, who is also seeking revenge against The Claw.

Other notable characters include Kenyu Horiuchi as Gadved, a former comrade of Van's who is now working for The Claw, Souichiro Hoshi as Yukiko, a skilled fighter who has a crush on Van, Masayo Kurata as Priscilla, a mysterious woman who appears to have a connection to Van's past, and Kazuhiko Kishino as Frank, a bartender who occasionally assists Van.

The show features a mix of action, comedy, and drama as Van and his companions cross paths with various characters on their journey. The animation style is reminiscent of classic Western movies, with a dusty, sun-soaked landscape and characters wearing cowboy hats and leather jackets. The soundtrack includes various Western-inspired tunes, as well as some catchy J-pop tracks.

Gun X Sword originally aired in Japan in 2005 and lasted for 26 episodes. The show received mixed reviews from critics but has since gained a cult following among anime fans. It has been released on DVD and Blu-Ray in various regions and is available for streaming on several platforms.

Overall, Gun X Sword is a fun and entertaining anime that blends Western and Japanese styles to create a unique and memorable adventure. The characters are likable and well-developed, and the story keeps the viewer engaged with its mix of action, humor, and drama. Whether you're a fan of classic Westerns or anime, Gun X Sword is definitely worth checking out.
