Ep 11. Kentucky Klassics

Guy Fieri heads to the Bluegrass state for some classic comfort food in the latest episode of Guy's Big Bite. In "Kentucky Klassics," Guy takes a tour of some local hotspots in Lexington and Louisville, serving up his unique twist on classic dishes.

The episode opens with Guy at The Brown Hotel in Louisville, where the legendary Hot Brown sandwich was first created. As he chats with the chef about the history of the dish, Guy starts brainstorming his own version. This dish features a mix of jasmine and wild rice, ginger-scented chicken, and plenty of veggies and Kentucky chili powder.

In Lexington, Guy visits Tolly-Ho, a local diner that's been around since the 1950s. He tries their famous Ho Burger, piled high with cheese, onion rings, and secret sauce. Inspired by the retro vibe of the diner, Guy decides to make a Ho Quiche for his next dish. This cheesy, bacon-filled quiche is baked in a hash brown crust for a crispy, crunchy texture.

At Wallace Station Deli in Versailles, Guy chats with the owners about their famous meatloaf sandwich. He decides to put his own spin on it by making a Meatloaf Patty Melt, with a thick slice of meatloaf between two slices of rye bread with melted cheese. To add some crunch, Guy tops the sandwich with crispy fried onions.

The final stop on Guy's Kentucky tour is Louie's Wine Dive in Lexington, where he meets with the chef to learn about their signature Chicken and Waffles dish. Guy decides to put a spicy twist on it by making Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles. The crispy chicken is coated in a fiery blend of spices and served on top of a fluffy waffle, with plenty of maple syrup to balance out the heat.

Throughout the episode, Guy shares his love for classic American comfort food and his passion for putting his own spin on it.
