Ep 3. Sweet Taste of Liberty

In the third episode of season one of How I Met Your Mother, titled "Sweet Taste of Liberty," Ted, Marshall, and Barney venture out to Philadelphia for a night of freedom. They leave Lily behind, as she's too busy with her art, and Robin, who has to work the morning shift.

The episode opens with Ted and Marshall reminiscing about their college days, sparked by a giant banner at their favorite bar, MacLaren's. After realizing they haven't had a crazy night out in a while, Barney swoops in and convinces them to go to Philadelphia. Ted is hesitant at first since he has a big meeting in the morning, but Barney persuades him to let loose and have some fun.

Once they arrive in Philly, the trio immediately heads to a bar, where they start doing shots and getting in trouble. They end up getting kicked out and wander around the city, trying to find another bar. Along the way, they meet a group of college students who show them a hot spot. At the new bar, they continue to drink heavily and start causing chaos. When Ted finally realizes the time, they head back to New York.

Despite their debauchery, Ted is relieved to make it back in time for his meeting. However, as he's presenting, he realizes he left his PowerPoint presentation in Philadelphia. In a panic, he rushes back to Philly and tracks down the college students from the night before. In a funny twist, it turns out the students had been playing a prank on the group, and the PowerPoint was never actually left behind. Ted is relieved and heads back to New York for good.

Overall, "Sweet Taste of Liberty" is a fun and light-hearted episode that showcases the antics of the group outside of their usual hangout spot. The theme of nostalgia is also prevalent, as Ted and Marshall reminisce about their college days and the gang reflects on the good times they had in Philadelphia. The episode also features some hilarious moments, particularly when Barney dresses up as a Revolutionary War soldier and when the group tries to convince a cop that they're Canadians. Fans of How I Met Your Mother are sure to enjoy this humorous and unpredictable episode.
