Ep 22. Good Crazy

Ted, Marshall, and Barney all recount their past experiences with women who have been "good crazy" or "bad crazy." Ted and Barney both remember experiences with women who were "good crazy", meaning they were spontaneous and fun to be around, but also had unpredictable and occasionally dangerous behavior. In contrast, Marshall tells a story about his past relationship with a woman who was "bad crazy", meaning she was possessive, jealous, and manipulative.

Meanwhile, Robin's new co-anchor, Becky, seems to be trying to sabotage Robin's chances at becoming the lead anchor. Robin confronts Becky, and finds out that Becky believes Robin is not as talented as she is. Robin, determined to prove Becky wrong, decides to do a special segment on location, which turns out to be disastrous and causes her to go on a rant on-air. Later, Robin receives a call from a potential lead anchor position in Chicago, and must decide whether to leave New York and her friends behind.

Lily and Marshall are also dealing with their own issues. Lily is struggling with the fact that Marshall wants to take a job with an environmental law firm in Minnesota, which would mean leaving their life in New York behind. Lily is torn between supporting Marshall and staying in New York with her job and friends. The two eventually come to a compromise, deciding to move to Minnesota but only stay for a year before returning to New York.

Throughout the episode, the theme of "good crazy" versus "bad crazy" is explored further, as the characters reflect on the women from their past and what they have learned from their experiences. Ultimately, the lesson seems to be that relationships with people who are "good crazy" can be exciting and rewarding, but need to be balanced with a level of responsibility and caution.
