Ep 18. Rally

In "Rally", the 18th episode of the final season of How I Met Your Mother, the gang is still dealing with the aftermath of Barney and Robin's wedding.

Ted is upset that he missed his chance with Robin, and begins to question if he truly wants to move on. He confides in Lily that he's been thinking about Robin a lot lately, and Lily urges him to tell her how he feels. Ted agrees to talk to Robin, but only after he completes his classic "Three Days, Three Nights" strategy.

Meanwhile, Barney is struggling with marriage. He's finding it hard to adjust to life with Robin, and decides to seek advice from Robin's father. The two bond over a game of laser tag, but ultimately end up drunkenly crashing a rehearsal dinner.

Marshall and Daphne are still on their road trip, and Daphne starts to get suspicious of Marshall's motivations for being on the trip. She thinks he might be avoiding Lily, and starts to pry into their relationship. Marshall denies it, but after a series of misunderstandings, Daphne starts to believe that Marshall is cheating on Lily.

With all of these issues bubbling to the surface, the gang decides to have a "rally" to help them through the tough times. They all convene at MacLaren's and give each other pep talks. Barney realizes that he needs to stop treating Robin like she's just another woman, and that he needs to work on being a better husband. Ted decides to finally tell Robin how he feels, regardless of how she responds.

As for Marshall, the group devises a plan to get him back on track with Lily. They send him a bunch of texts pretending to be a fictional "Bonnie" who is interested in him. Marshall is confused at first, but eventually realizes that the texts are from his friends, and decides to take their advice and go back to Lily.

The episode ends with Ted gearing up to tell Robin his feelings, but ultimately chickening out. He decides to let Robin be happy with Barney, and tells her that he just wants to be friends. However, the episode hints that there may be something more to their relationship in the future, as they share a meaningful look before parting ways.

Overall, "Rally" is a heartwarming and hilarious episode that showcases the close bond between the How I Met Your Mother gang. As the show hurtles towards its conclusion, the characters are forced to confront their deepest fears and desires, leading to some truly memorable moments.
