The Korean television series Hyena has been compared to the American series, Sex and the City, male style. However, the narrator is a female who is talking about four single men friends of hers. There's a lot of action, conflict, comic relief, and drama. However, primarily, it's a comedy, with sixteen episodes, having first aired in 2006.

The episodes of the show detail the daily life of these four thirty-something guys. They're all different, all sympathetic characters, and have superior chemistry together. Yet, they definitely have their problems and occasional immature episodes, which provide lots of laughs. Through the eyes of their female friend, the audience also sees how these gentlemen individually view the world, such as, what their attitudes are with respect to their careers, relationships, and friendships. These four disparate males represent four main types that females encounter in the dating scene, and the narrator speaks of their ventures and adventures in this manner. Although funny, the men truly seem authentic, as they face the real issues of their times and their environments.

Kim Min jong acts as Kim Chul so, a hard-luck dude employed at a lower level at a television station, where his buddy, the younger Choi Jin beom, played by Oh Man suk. This fellow is much better looking and much more successful, as well. One of the running jokes here is that Chul appears to jinx everything he does and everyone around him, so no one wants to work with hin, with such disastrous outcomes always taking place.

Next, Choi Jin beom's older brother, acted by Yoon Da hoon, and called Choi Jin sang, is a writer of romantic pornography. He also strives to have relations with every woman he possibly can. This trio lives in a small apartment in a large complex in Seoul. The main conflict with them is that Jin is much more proper and even a little stiff, but he's the only fellow with a car, and also has money. The fourth fellow, the character of Sin Seung rok, is played by Lee Seok jin. He's an excellent chef with his own television show, is gay, and also has many women friends and guests.
