Jeannie, the 2,000-year-old genie, tries to impress her master, Captain Tony Nelson, by making him a famous opera singer in the My Master, the Great Caruso episode of I Dream of Jeannie.

Captain Tony Nelson is feeling down and sad because he lost his voice just days ahead of an important singing performance he was preparing for. Tony loves singing and always dreamt of being a world-renowned opera singer. Jeannie, his gorgeous and adorable genie, feels the need to cheer him up. To do so, she tries to help him realize his dream of becoming a famous opera singer by granting him the voice of Enrico Caruso, a legendary Italian tenor.

When Jeannie discovers the extent of Tony's passion for the opera, she gets an idea and sets out to make his dream come true. She decides to transform her master's voice and singing style so that he sounds exactly like the legendary Enrico Caruso when he sings. Tony is initially skeptical, but Jeannie reassures him and gives him the confidence to go ahead with it.

The next day, when Tony steps out onto the stage, everything seems perfect and he feels confident and excited to perform. As the performance begins, Tony finds himself hitting every note perfectly, just like Enrico Caruso did. The audience is mesmerized and cheering him on as he sings his heart out.

As time passes, Tony begins to lose himself in the role, becoming more and more like Caruso. Jeannie, on the other hand, begins to realize that her actions have some consequences. She had not thought about the fact that Tony might become so absorbed in the role that he would not be able to return to his old self.

Although Tony feels great, he does not realize that the way he has begun to resemble Caruso, in voice and personality, may be a bit concerning. Jeannie becomes worried when she sees Tony's newfound personality traits begin to transform his life, his identity. She realizes that there is a chance Tony may lose his sense of who he is in the process.

As the episode progresses, Tony begins to perform more and more like Caruso, and when he is not on stage, he even begins to act like the famous Italian tenor. His behavior becomes so strange that his colleagues start to worry. Tony's friend Doctor Bellows grows suspicious of Tony's sudden transformation and begins to believe that he is seeing things.

Jeannie becomes worried and decides to intervene to ensure that Tony comes back to his senses. She decides to take matters into her own hands and decides to reverse the spell so that Tony can return to his original voice and personality.

As the episode comes to a close, the audience sees Tony back to his old self thanks to Jeannie's intervention. He realizes that his true passion is not to be someone else but to be himself, a talented man with his own dreams and aspirations. Jeannie, equally relieved and happy, promises to always stand by his side and support him in all his endeavors.

The My Master, the Great Caruso episode of I Dream of Jeannie is a tribute to the world of music and the power of passion. It shows how determination can lead to great achievements, but also how important it is to stay true to oneself and not get lost in someone else's identity. The audience cannot help but feel inspired by Tony's passion to become the best version of himself.
