Ep 8. Vacation Nightmare

Two friends, Alison and Heather, head to Belize for a much-needed vacation but quickly find themselves at the mercy of the jungle. After a day of scuba diving, the duo boards a small plane to take them to their next adventure. But as soon as they take off, the plane's engine fails, forcing them to crash-land in the middle of the Belizean jungle.

With no food, water or medical supplies, Alison and Heather quickly realize that they're in a fight for survival. They scavenge for food and water, relying on their limited survival skills to stay alive. But as the days go by and their situation grows more dire, they begin to fear for their lives.

Meanwhile, Alison's husband back home in the US realizes that something is wrong when he doesn't hear from her. He contacts the embassy in Belize, who launch a search and rescue mission to try and find them.

They're forced to make a difficult decision: stay put and wait for rescue or attempt to walk out of the jungle on their own. Little do they know that Alison and Heather are only a few miles away, fighting for their lives.

Finally, after weeks of wandering the jungle, Alison and Heather stumble upon a river. They know that civilization must be close. Exhausted and starving, they crawl to the riverbank and see a small village in the distance. They can hardly believe their luck. They limp towards the village, fueled by the hope that they'll finally be able to communicate with the outside world.

What follows is an emotional reunion between Alison and her husband as they're finally reunited after more than six weeks apart. The two women are treated for dehydration and malnutrition, but they're otherwise okay. As they look back on their ordeal, they realize just how lucky they are to be alive. They never thought they'd be able to survive in the jungle for so long, but they did. And they know that they owe their survival to each other.
