Ep 6. Kristen

Kristen, the subject of season 2 episode 6 of the show Intervention, is a 27-year-old married woman living in Missouri. Kristen, who was once the captain of her high school cheerleading squad and an all-American girl, has become a serious alcoholic and drug addict. The problem began when Kristen was a teenager, struggling with an undiagnosed mental illness.

Kristen’s husband, Ben, is also addicted to drugs and alcohol, and the two of them frequently use together. They have lost their home and most of their possessions due to their addiction and are now living in a trailer park. Kristen’s mother, who is also an alcoholic, has done her best to help Kristen, but her efforts have been unsuccessful.

The idea for the intervention comes from Kristen’s sister, Erica, who is desperate to see Kristen get the help she needs. Erica is accompanied by Kristen’s father, who has been estranged from the family for many years due to his own substance abuse issues.

The intervention team is led by Jeff VanVonderen, an intervention specialist who has been helping families with addiction for over 30 years. Jeff meets with Kristen’s family and friends to learn more about her addiction and formulate a plan for the intervention.

During the intervention, Kristen is confronted by her loved ones about the impact her addiction has had on her life and the lives of those around her. Kristen becomes defensive at first but eventually breaks down in tears, admitting that she needs help.

Kristen agrees to go to a treatment center, but her detox process is excruciatingly painful. Ben, who has also agreed to go to treatment, is struggling with his own addiction and eventually leaves the facility.

Kristen is determined to stay in treatment for the entire 90-day program, and her family is hopeful that she will come out of it sober and with a renewed sense of purpose.
