Is This a Zombie? is a comedic, action-packed anime series that originally aired from January to March 2011 in Japan. The show's storyline revolves around a 16-year-old high school student named Ayumu Aikawa, who is mysteriously killed by a serial killer. However, instead of staying in the afterlife, he is revived as a zombie by a necromancer named Eucliwood Hellscythe.

Ayumu struggles to live an ordinary life as an undead creature, but things get more complicated when he encounters a magical girl named Haruna, who accidentally turns him into a Masō-Shōjo (a term used to describe a magical girl with the ability to transform into a warrior). In this form, Ayumu’s outfit becomes more feminine, and he gains superhuman strength and agility.

As Ayumu continues to navigate his new existence as a zombie and Masō-Shōjo, he and his friends get involved in a variety of supernatural conflicts that can only be resolved through battles. Along the way, he meets other characters who aid him in his fight, including the vampire ninja Seraphim, a trio of necromancers, and a group of magical girls known as the Magical Garment Girls.

The show's characters are a mix of quirky, eccentric, and interesting personalities. Ayumu is the protagonist, a zombie who is brave and capable despite his unusual condition. He is joined by Haruna, the magical girl who turns him into a Masō-Shōjo, and Seraphim, the vampire ninja who eventually becomes Ayumu’s partner-in-crime.

Other notable characters include Tomonori, Ayumu's childhood friend who carries a magical chainsaw and a secret love for him; the necromancer Eucliwood Hellscythe, who brought Ayumu back to life; and the Magical Garment Girls, a group of four magical girls who are determined to stop Haruna and Ayumu’s shenanigans.

The series is known for its high-energy action scenes, which often involve grotesque and over-the-top gore. The fight scenes are well-animated, and the show’s colorful, vibrant art style adds to the spectacle. The show's humor is also a highlight, with many of the characters being hilarious and memorable.

The voice acting in the show is top-notch, with Junji Majima voicing Ayumu, Iori Nomizu voicing Haruna, and Hisako Kanemoto voicing Seraphim. The rest of the cast also delivers strong performances, bringing each character to life with humor and heart.

Overall, Is This a Zombie? is a fun and entertaining show that combines action, comedy, and supernatural elements into a unique, quirky package. Its charming characters, memorable humor, and high-energy fight scenes make it a must-watch for fans of anime who enjoy a good laugh and a solid action sequence.
