Bertie's friend Tuppy is in a bit of a predicament. He has been tasked with looking after his Aunt Dahlia's precious dog, but the little terrier has gone missing. Tuppy is beside himself with worry and has enlisted the help of Bertie to find the dog. Jeeves, however, is less than enthusiastic about the whole situation and thinks that Tuppy should just let the dog be. Bertie, being the good friend that he is, cannot refuse to help Tuppy and with Jeeves in tow, the pair set out to find the little terrier.

Their search takes them to the local pub where Tuppy suspects the dog may have been dognapped by a group of rough-looking sailors. Bertie and Jeeves search the place and eventually find the dog hidden in the upstairs of the pub. They manage to rescue the dog and return him safely to Tuppy.

Meanwhile, Bertie's old flame, Madeline, has arrived in town with her new fiancé, Gussie. Madeline is still very fond of Bertie and makes it clear that she is not happy with his lack of communication since they last saw each other. Bertie, who is not interested in Madeline romantically, is nonetheless flattered by the attention and agrees to meet with her so they can have a chat.

The meeting goes awry when Gussie, who has a severe speech impediment, joins them and makes it impossible for Bertie to understand anything he says. Madeline is hurt by Bertie's lack of interest in her and storms off, leaving Bertie and Jeeves to try and make sense of Gussie's rambling speech.

In the end, Bertie manages to set things right with Madeline and even finds a way to cure Gussie's speech impediment. Everything works out for the best, and Bertie learns a valuable lesson about the dangers of meddling in other people's affairs.

Overall, Tuppy and the Terrier is a fun and lighthearted episode that showcases the humor and wit of the show's lead characters. The search for the missing terrier provides plenty of laughs and opportunities for Bertie and Jeeves to show off their deductive reasoning skills. Additionally, the subplot involving Madeline and Gussie adds an extra layer of comedy to the episode and allows for some great character development for Bertie. Fans of the series will not be disappointed.
