Jeremiah is a post-apocalyptic television drama series that first premiered on the 3rd of March, 2002, on Showtime starring Luke Perry, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Sean Astin, Peter Stebbings, Ingrid Kavelaars, Byron Lawson, and Kim Hawthorne. The series revolves around a world where a mysterious virus has wiped out everyone over the age of thirteen, leaving the world in the hands of children and adolescents. The show is set in the year 2021, and humanity has been pushed back to a pre-industrial age.

The show follows the character Jeremiah, played by Luke Perry, who is one of the survivors of the virus. He has grown up in a world where he knows nothing of the previous era and must now navigate through a world of violence, mysterious factions, and new leadership ideologies. Jeremiah is a strong-willed and determined character who is on a mission to rebuild the world, to bring back law and order, and to find out what really caused the virus that wiped out most of humanity.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner plays the role of Kurdy, a wandering friend of Jeremiah, who is his most trusted ally in the post-apocalyptic world. Kurdy is a skilled fighter, but his strongest asset is his cunning wit, which he uses to get himself and Jeremiah out of tight spaces. Sean Astin plays the character of Mr. Smith, a man who runs a self-sufficient farm with his wife, Erin, played by Kimberly Hawthorne. Their farm is one of the few sanctuaries left in the world and is a hub for the local trade.

As the show progresses, we are introduced to more characters, including Markus, a political faction leader played by Peter Stebbings, who has ambitions of ruling over the world, and who Julius, played by Byron Lawson, a member of Markus' faction who is fiercely loyal to him. Ingrid Kavelaars plays the role of Erin, Mr. Smith's wife, who is also a skilled doctor and is instrumental in helping Jeremiah in his quest to find a cure for the virus.

The world of this post-apocalyptic series is filled with secrets and conspiracies, hidden factions and leaders with their own ideologies who hold their followers in a tight grip. You never know who is going to be a friend or a foe, and Jeremiah's journey to rebuild the world is an uphill struggle that seems unending.

The show does an excellent job of portraying a world that is wild and dangerous, where humanity is on the verge of extinction. However, it is also a world that is full of hope and a need for togetherness, where children band together to survive against all odds. The show explores various themes such as leadership, loyalty, and friendship, and how these concepts change in a world where everyone is struggling to survive.

The show has two seasons and a total of 35 episodes, each episode building up to the next, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats. It's an excellent watch for fans of post-apocalyptic series, and as the plot develops, it becomes more and more engaging. From the plot to the character development, Jeremiah is a must-watch series that will leave you rooting for humanity in a world that seems intent on destroying everything they know.

In conclusion, Jeremiah is a post-apocalyptic drama that explores the harsh realities of life in a world where humanity is on the brink of extinction.
