Last Cinderella is a romantic comedy that aired on Fuji TV from 11 April to 20 June 2013. The drama is about the life of a 39-year-old woman named Sakura Toyama (played by Ryoko Shinohara) who works as a hairdresser. She is well-known for her skills in hairdressing, and it is through her profession that she meets a handsome, younger man named Hiroto Saeki (played by Naoki Sasahara). This chance encounter eventually leads to the development of a romantic relationship between Sakura and Hiroto.

The show has a unique twist on the classic Cinderella story, with Sakura portraying the titular character. Unlike other depictions of the story, however, Sakura is not a damsel in distress waiting for a prince to save her. Instead, she is a strong and independent woman who is content with her current life but is open to the possibility of finding love.

Sakura is initially reluctant to start a relationship with Hiroto due to their age gap of 10 years. However, she soon realizes that he is a kind and caring man who genuinely cares for her. Despite opposition from her best friend Shima (played by Haruma Miura), who encourages her to pursue a relationship with her boss Tachibana (played by Naohito Fujiki), Sakura decides to give Hiroto a chance.

The show focuses not only on Sakura's love life, but also on her relationships with her coworkers and friends. Her work as a hairstylist provides a platform for her to help people with their personal issues, and she becomes a confidant to many of her clients. The show explores various societal issues in Japan, such as ageism and the expectations placed on women to marry and have children by a certain age.

The character of Hiroto Saeki is an interesting one as well. He is a successful businessman who falls in love with Sakura's personality and not just her physical appearance. Despite being younger than Sakura, Hiroto is mature and respectful towards her, and he acts as a positive influence in her life.

The chemistry between the two leads is palpable, and their love story is heartwarming and engaging. The show also features a strong supporting cast who add depth to the story. Haruma Miura's portrayal of Sakura's best friend Shima is particularly noteworthy, as he brings a comedic element to the otherwise romantic storyline.

The show's soundtrack is also a standout feature, with various Japanese and English songs used throughout the series. The opening theme, "Happiness" by AI, perfectly captures the optimistic and uplifting tone of the show.

Overall, Last Cinderella is a charming and enjoyable romantic comedy. The show's unique take on the classic fairy tale and its exploration of societal issues make it stand out from other shows in the genre. The strong performances from the cast and the engaging storyline make it a must-watch for fans of Japanese dramas.
