Ep 4. Educating Boyd

Mike Baxter, played by Tim Allen, is back in Last Man Standing season 5 episode 4 titled "Educating Boyd". In this episode, Mike and his wife, Vanessa, are trying to come up with a plan to send their grandson Boyd, played by Flynn Morrison, to a better school.

Boyd has been struggling at his current school and his parents, Ryan and Kristin, are not happy with the situation. Mike decides to take matters into his own hands and helps Boyd get a spot at a private school. However, the school is very expensive and Mike needs to come up with a plan to pay for it.

Meanwhile, Mandy, played by Molly Ephraim, is excited about her new job at an outdoor sporting goods store but soon learns that her coworkers are not as friendly as she thought they would be. She also gets into trouble when she tries to impress her boss by buying a new fishing boat for the store.

As Mike tries to figure out how to pay for Boyd's education, he decides to sell some of his old outdoor gear. He enlists the help of his friend, Ed, played by Hector Elizondo, but things don't go as planned when he starts to regret selling some of his favorite items.

Throughout the episode, Mike wrestles with the idea of whether or not he is preparing his grandson for the real world or spoiling him. He also struggles with the realization that he is getting older and may not be able to do the things he used to.

Boyd's parents, Ryan and Kristin, are also dealing with their own issues in this episode. Ryan is having trouble adjusting to his new job while Kristin is trying to balance being a mother and a business owner.
