Ep 13. Father's Shadow

Teddy Winnock, a former member of a white supremacist group, is found murdered in a park. Detectives Benson and Amaro investigate his death and find out that Winnock was trying to leave the group and his father, Walt, was not happy about it. Walt has a history of violence and Benson and Amaro suspect that he may have been involved in Teddy's murder. As they dig deeper, they discover that the white supremacist group is planning a rally in New York City and fear that there may be more violence.

Meanwhile, Benson is dealing with some personal issues as she struggles with her relationship with Cassidy. They have been seeing each other for several months, but Benson is unsure if she is ready for a serious commitment. Cassidy, on the other hand, is ready to take their relationship to the next level.

As the investigation progresses, Benson and Amaro question several members of the white supremacist group, including Teddy's former girlfriend and his former best friend, who are both now trying to leave the group as well. They also investigate a local gun shop that has been known to sell weapons to white supremacists.

When Walt is brought in for questioning, he denies any involvement in his son's murder. However, Benson and Amaro are able to gather enough evidence to arrest him. During the trial, Walt's defense team argues that he was simply trying to protect his son from the dangers of leaving the white supremacist group. However, the prosecution argues that Walt's actions were driven by hate and a desire to control his son's life.

In the end, Walt is found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. Benson and Cassidy also have a heart-to-heart about their relationship and decide to take things slow. The white supremacist group's rally is eventually cancelled due to the police investigation.
