Liar Game is a TV drama series produced by the South Korean cable network tvN. The show is based on a manga of the same name by Shinobu Kaitani, which was serialized in Weekly Young Jump from 2005 to 2010. The show stars Erika Toda, Shota Matsuda, Michiko Kichise, Kazuma Suzuki, Shingo Ippongi, Masayuki Izumi, Shigeo Kiyama, Makoto Sakamoto, S?k? Wada, Rinko Kikuchi, Nobuo Ky?, Emi Takei, K'suke Suzuki, Ikkei Watanabe, and S?ichir? Kitamura.

The story follows Nao Kanzaki (Erika Toda), a college student who finds herself in debt after her father abandons the family and runs away with their life savings. Desperate for money, Nao is lured into playing a high-stakes game show called Liar Game, which promises contestants huge sums of money if they can successfully outsmart their opponents. However, the catch is that the game is rigged against them, and the contestants are pitted against each other in a web of lies, deception, and mind games.

Nao soon finds herself caught up in a complex game of cat and mouse, as she tries to unravel the web of lies and deceit that surrounds the game. She is aided in her quest by a former swindler named Shinichi Akiyama (Shota Matsuda), who is a genius at reading people and predicting their moves. Together, they form an unlikely team, combining their unique skills to outwit their opponents and emerge victorious.

The game itself is divided into rounds, each of which has its own set of rules and challenges. In each round, the contestants are given a certain amount of money, which they must use to make wagers and investments. The goal is to accumulate the most money by the end of the round, without falling victim to the lies of their opponents.

As the game progresses, Nao and Akiyama must face increasingly difficult challenges, including a mysterious organization that seems to control the game from behind the scenes. They must also deal with psychological warfare from their opponents, who use a variety of tactics to manipulate and deceive them.

The show is notable for its strong performances from its cast, particularly Toda and Matsuda, who have excellent chemistry onscreen. The show also features stylish direction and cinematography, which add to the tense and suspenseful atmosphere of the game.

Overall, Liar Game is a thrilling and engaging drama that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats with each new round of the game. Its clever writing, talented cast, and production values make it a standout in the genre of psychological thriller dramas.

Liar Game is a series that is currently running and has 2 seasons (22 episodes). The series first aired on October 20, 2014.
